Eastern Australia
This past week we have been working our way up the east coast and are only about 2 hours south of our final stop, Brisbane. Thus far we have gone about 6,000 km (3,728 miles) and are sad that our trip to Australia is slowly coming to an end, but are growing excitement for our next stop in New Zealand on December 6th.
Our most memorable part of the week was stopping through Sydney. We were itching for some good seafood other than fish and chips so Jesse and I were determined to get to the Sydney Fish Market where we proceeded to have a dozen oysters, sushi, lobster and calamari and yes this was only for lunch. We also stopped by the Sydney Opera House, took a bus tour, walked through the Botanical Gardens and the Garden of Friendship and had a drink in Kings Cross. This time we were a bit smarter and chose not to drive into through the city. Our last city experience in Melbourne we were pulled over by the police and yelled at by a tram driver. For those of you who do not know the tram shares the road with other cars and if it stops you stop and you are not allowed to be on your cell phone even if the car is parked. Needless to say we decided to skip that in our way through Sydney.
On our other days outside of the city we have been blessed with fantastic weather. The hot weather is slowly approaching, but we have enjoyed beach hopping during the days and have been lucky enough to see a few old friends along the way. Thank you to Ian for hosting us in Port Macquarie and Rachel for hosting us in Woolgoolga (yes I had to practice pronouncing that a few times).
Our sights of animals has also continued. We have seen a lot of Kangaroos and were lucky enough to hear them munching on the grass behind our camper van last night.
Finally getting to see my Great White Shark!
